Keynote: Amy Mayer, Founder friEdTechnology
Research tells and experience shows us that much of the feedback we give students makes little difference in the learning process; and when students aren't using feedback to improve, we are wasting our nights and weekends. With technology tools, we can simultaneously save time for teachers and greatly increase the effectiveness and transmission of feedback in the writing process for student writers. In this session, you will learn to offer feedback your students can and will use in a fraction of the time you spend marking papers. Learn new ways to offer feedback using G Suite and other free tools with Amy Mayer, former high school and college English teacher, and also founder of Google Partner company friEdTechnology.

How to Click the Auto Button for your Science Field Trip
As a former high school science teacher, I often took students outside for experiments and a few times a year off campus for a crazy fun field trips. In both cases, papers were torn, pencils/pens lost and packets of solutions left for me to grade. In this session, we will explore how google forms can replace any paper quiz, note catcher, and/or reflection aspect to your upcoming field trip. In addition, we will create one quiz that can be differentiated for several groups and allow for automatic grading so the only thing you have to worry about when the field trip is over is that one kid missing from the bus.

Creating Self-Paced Online Classes Using Google Sites
Over the last 3 years I have found the curriculum for my STEM class to be challenging for different types and levels of learners entrusted to my care. After a little trial and error, I was able build an online class that students could participate in while in the room, but allow all to work at their own pace. This freed me up to offer better individual feedback, and gave students the flexibility to complete assignments with some degree of choice and personal ownership. This session will cover the reasoning behind this new approach, the steps that I took to complete the project, and somehow-to pointers for building one of your own.
